Friday, March 22 is World Water Day. Clean and available water is what separates a first world country from 2nd or 3rd world countries. Water is so crucial and Levi's is giving us an option to be conscious of our water use with their Water<less™line. Rudy and I have been Levi's fans for a long time. We love the quality and fit of the denim. It is truly, top notch. They are so classic, and they run true to size. Some days I prefer rigid, sturdy denim (like in the wedgie fit jeans), and some days I am all about comfort and want denim that has a little bit of stretch, (but doesn't look like it.) I have been really pleased with both the sturdy denim and stretch denim at Levis. My current favorites are the wedgie fit (for durability), and the 724 high rise straight crop jeans (for a little more comfort and stretch.)
Another thing we admire about Levi's is that they have long been a business that recognizes and reduces its environmental impact. They are continuing to do this by using 96% less water in their Water<less™line! Levi’s also encourages us to wash our jeans less and when we do wash them we should wash them in cold. The old myth that you need to wash your denim after every wear has been busted. Hang them out in the sun to freshen them up, and only wash them when necessary. Levis has already saved 172 million liters of water by using this process.
Rudy is studying to be an environmental engineer and he knows the impacts that industry can have on our water supply. If companies are not responsible they can impact our fresh water supply in a big way by polluting them with chemicals from their production. It is good to know that there are companies like Levi's that pledge environmental responsibility.
